Obituary
With deep sorrow, we must inform you that on October 31, 2025, the oldest modelcar racer of Belarus, Valery Krotchenkov, passed away.
He was born in Minsk on August 10, 1947, and his entire life was inseparably connected with model car racing. Having become passionate about it in his youth, he carried this love throughout his whole life.
Valery was a multiple-time Champion and record holder of the USSR, as well as a medalist at European Championships. Under his leadership and with his direct involvement, the tether car racetrack in Minsk was modernized, which later hosted the European Championships in 1981 and 1989.
He was a good friend and a loyal comrade, someone you could always turn to for help or advice. Valery was also a true artist in metalwork — many model racers achieved success in the sport thanks to the precision and quality of his creations.
The memory of him will forever remain in our hearts.
