In Memoriam – Jaak Ringmäe (1955–2025)

Jaak Ringmäe was born on April 29, 1955.
A gifted mechanic from an early age, he discovered modelcar sport in the 1970s and became one of Estonia’s most successful speed model car racers. Jaak was a three-time European Champion, multiple USSR and Estonian Champion, world record holder, and a highly respected mentor to younger enthusiasts.

Beyond sport, he worked throughout his life as a skilled precision mechanic and CNC operator, helping to modernize machinery in Estonia and abroad. Friends and colleagues remember him as precise, principled, and quietly devoted—whether to his craft, his family, or those who needed his care.

Jaak Ringmäe passed away on September 16, 2025, in Tallinn from heart failure. His legacy lives on in his family, in the many racers he inspired, and in the history of Estonian modelcar sport.
